Hello Everyone! There are a ton of gift guides out there, so I just want to add a simple list of things we love. Some of my favorite and most meaningful Christmas gifts from family and friends have been these Christian-inspired items.
By the way, thank you for your sweet messages, calls, and texts about baby Lily’s trip to the hospital. You can read about that here. We are so happy that she is healthy and fine.
There is so much going on at this time of year that it is easy to forget the reason for the season. These gifts are great reminders of what the season is all about- whether it’s a fun way to act out the birth of Jesus story or a sweet book to read before bed.
Also, there’s good news! Almost all of these items from Amazon can still be delivered by Christmas. I hope you’ll love these things as much as we do!
This is far and away my favorite gift we have ever purchased for the kids. It was the only gift we bought for them on their first Christmas, and this year they are playing with it for the third year in a row. Amazingly, we have not lost any pieces! This is a high quality toy that will last and last- this year we’re practicing telling the Christmas story with it- I just love this toy! It also sells out often, so I hope you can purchase one!
I just heard about this a few weeks ago and it’s one of my favorite “new” things! Give it to a family with a new baby to start their Christmas traditions or any family who wants to add more Jesus to the season. It’s a pretty cool alternative to the “Elf on a Shelf” phenomenon. The kit comes with an advent calendar and different scripture readings for the days leading up to Christmas. You can hide the star and “find” it each day. The reviews on Amazon can tell you tons of details- this is a winner!
My kiddos love “lift the flap” books. They cannot get enough of them- as I mentioned in this post. When I saw this Bible, I knew we had to have it. It’s one of the things they will unwrap on Christmas morning and I know they are going to love it. It also teaches colors, animals, and shapes- it’s a winner!
Do you LOVE all Jim Shore’s products? I do. They are beautiful, detailed, and high quality items. I think this would be a special gift that little ones would look forward to putting on the tree again and again. My family has been giving us one Jim Shore item each Christmas to collect and they are gorgeous!
Start a new tradition of making nativity scene cookies every year! It would make a great “basket” gift for a family- cookie cutters plus a rolling pin, fancy sugar decorations, and an oven mitt. These are so cute and not that expensive at all. Also, it’s a great gift for a kid that loves to bake with you in the kitchen.
We have had this book for two years now and it’s a favorite. It stays on the shelf all year. The bright colorful pictures are fun to look at and it’s a short little read. Attach this book to a larger Christmas gift as a reminder about why we’re giving all these great gifts!
This is another great choice for a lasting children’s nativity that you can use year after year. Melissa & Doug are known for their high quality toys and this is no exception.
I hope this little list will help you finish up your Christmas shopping. These are all things my kids actually play with and enjoy having around during the Christmas season!
